The Sash Window Workshop specialise in improving energy efficiency in period properties by replacing or repairing the existing traditional timber windows and doors.

The company were contacted by Mr Baker to provide a quote to upgrade a couple of windows, after he was recommended by a family member who had work done by the company previously.

A visit was then arranged to assess the windows and a quote provided to Mr Baker for two pairs of new double-glazed sashes being installed into the existing window frames and a complete new, double-glazed casement window.

The customer decided to go ahead with the work and a further survey was carried out to check the measurements before the items were manufactured.  Excellent attention to detail was required as one of the windows with new sashes installed had been affected by previous movement in the house, meaning that the window was now very out of square.

The Sash Window Workshop manufacture all their new joinery in their workshops in Bracknell, Berkshire.  Their expert craftsmen utilise the latest machinery to ensure that new joinery is precise and designed to complement the architectural style of the property.

Windows and doors are draught proofed to improve energy efficiency, and the company uses Accoya wood, which comes with a 50 year anti-rot guarantee.

Once the new joinery was manufactured, the windows and doors were installed in the Victorian property by The Sash Window Workshop’s installers.  Upon completion of the work, the customer commented that the service and product were excellent.

Mr Baker was so happy with the work that he then decided to place further orders with The Sash Window Workshop, spacing out the work to the property in phases.

In total, The Sash Window Workshop has now manufactured and installed fifteen pairs of new sashes (including two bay windows), one new casement window, and one new French door for Mr Baker across a total of five orders.

After the more recent work was completed, the customer commented:

“Delighted by the reduction in noise and improved insulation. Always a pleasure to deal with The Sash Window Workshop. Personable and considerate staff. High quality workmanship.”
